Recently I have uploaded the pictures of my photo shoot which contains all of the pictures that I took. Looking at all of the pictures together has given me an idea on which pictures I want to use for my front cover, contents page and double paged spreads.
I have also created a video that shows the 'behind the scenes' of my photo shoot, this was to clarify that I was the person taking the pictures in the photo shoot. I added some music to the video related to my magazine as thought it would be a nice touch, however I also added a R&B song as it is my favourite genre of music; this is mainly why I chose to do an R&B magazine as I already know a lot about how to attract the audience as I am one of those people who my magazine would target.

Recently I have completed my Model release, this has informed my model Bradley Moore what he is getting himself into; thankfully Bradley agrees with the terms and conditions and has no problem with any of the things he has to do. It also means that I have secured my model and I don't have to worry about my model not appearing to photo shoots as he has signed the model release.
I have also taken pictures of all the equipment that I will be using as it has prepared me and I now know what equipment is need to get the best quality pictures of Bradley. All of these pieces of equipment are used by professionals when they take photo shoots so this will give my pictures a professional feel, which means my magazine will be to a high quality.

Model Release
I asked my model, Bradley Moore, to sign a model release to give me the rights to take pictures of him and put them in my magazine Slick. I believe that it is also helpful for my model as he actually knows what he is getting himself into e.g. if necessary to re-take any photo shoots. This also means my model is being handled in a professional way and he doesn't feel like he is getting himself into something that he doesn't know what he actually has to do.

Production Post 20
I have finished a couple of tasks in the past week including; props/costumes, promotional methods and new media. The last two tasks I completed (promotional methods & new media) has given me an understanding on how I will get my magazine heard and noticed by the target audience. The promotional methods includes the basic marketing strategies e.g. leaflets, posters, billboards etc.
The new media task involved how I will use the media to promote my product e.g. via social networking sites, adverts on youtube etc. All this planning will help get my magazine noticed in the UK much more quicker than using the common ways of promotion.

New Media
The magazine will be on social networking websites and it will also
have its own website. These two forms of media are gong to be linked together,
as when you go on the social networking sites (twitter, facebook, MySpace) it
will have hyperlink to the official website and vice versa. I have chosen the internet to be my main source of advertising and promoting as it is such a big and world wide thing that has become an everyday use. In the UK 60% of homes have connection to the internet which means a lot of people will see/witness advertising everyday, sometimes they don't even notice. However if we can create a good logo we can become much more noticeable to possible consumers of the magazine; we want to implant into peoples brains the logo of the magazine without them even noticing.
The website will also act like an online magazine which fans of the magazine can briefly look at what is coming up in the next issue; this could then encourage them to pre-order the next issue in advance.
Following on from ordering, I will also have on the website a ‘buy’ page were customers can buy the magazine singly or in packages e.g. 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months. This will make the magazine much more easier to get hold of the magazine.
Also the use of social networking sites will be useful, as it will produce many fans that have never heard of the magazine before. This will then lead to a rise in customers as they will then see the link to the official website, hopefully whilst on the official website they will order the next issue.

Also
the magazine will have an app for all types of Smartphone’s. This is a fairly
new type of media, which is growing by the minute, and currently 50% of people
have a Smartphone in the UK & USA. So an app will generate a lot of
customers. This app will be the same as the official website as it will contain
the same information and it will also have the same ability of the website e.g.
pre-order an issue.
Finally, I will also get advertising on youtube clips. As most people have noticed most well established videos on youtube with many views have a advert before the clip starts. If we can do this it will again get the viewers to notice the magazine. The adverts will on videos that have a connection with the magazine genre (R&B) e.g. a Ne-yo music video.

Promotional Methods
The magazine will be promoted in various
ways which will entice readers and get the product noticed as it is new in the
market.
Firstly we will start with the simple and most common methods of promotion, leaflets. We will go to busy areas in London where there are a lot of young people, such as Oxford Street. However we will also go to arenas when there are concerts on and hand them out there, preferably concerts related to the genre such as a Jay-Z concert etc.
Another promotional method will be radio adverts. This is a very costly source of advertising however I believe that is an easy way of getting the magazine heard. I aim to have the advert on the radio station ‘kiss 100’ as they play the music that is related to my genre, R&B.
My next promotional method is having a facebook, twitter and MySpace accounts. You might see this as a non-promotional method however these social networking sites promote products discreetly, thus can encourage people to buy the magazine. For instance if you post ‘special offer’ or ‘special feature’ and you tell the followers who is in the special feature, it could encourage the reader to buy the magazine, as a certain person is featuring in it.
Finally, my last way of promoting the magazine is most probably the simplest form, posters and billboards. Posters and billboards are still, with all the media, one of the most powerful ways to promote a product. Having a billboard up in London will stimulate thousands of customers as millions of people walk past the billboard in a day.
I believe my ways of promotion are balanced out money wise, with expensive forms (radio adverts) and cheap forms (leaflets). As this magazine is brand new, we do not have the financial backing to advertise on music channels and so on, so we have found forms of promotion which aren’t ridiculously expensive or cheap.

Production Post 19
I have completed props/costumes which has prepared me for when I do my photoshoot as I know what my model needs to wear in the photoshoot and what props he will be using. The costumes will be one of the main ways of portraying the genre of my magazine.
